What are some hidden gems to see in Istanbul? The colorful and historical neighborhoods of Fener and Balat are hidden gems in Istanbul waiting to be discovered. Filled with cobbled streets, pastel-colored buildings, and gorgeous religious buildings, both Fener and Balat are a sight for sore eyes. Another secret place in Istanbul that will appeal to both history and art lovers is the Great Palace Mosaics Museum (closed for restoration at the moment). Located right around the corner from the Sultanahmet Park, the Mosaics Museum is the only remaining part of the Great Palace of Constantinople and is home to stunning floor mosaics from the Roman era.

When to visit The Dubai Mall is great any time, but perhaps best in summer, when it offers cool respite from Dubai’s heat. The quietest times to explore are early after the 10am opening, and Sundays-Wednesdays before the weekends hit. Perhaps synchronize your visit with the Dubai Fountain shows outside: at 1pm and 1:30pm (1.30pm and 2pm Fridays) and half-hourly between 6pm and 11pm.

Yerevan
Have a Coffee or Local Food at a Sidewalk Cafe I constantly tell people about it and rave on about how I could work from an outdoor cafe in the middle of a park in spring while back in Norway my garden was under around two feet of snow. When my friends eventually travel to Yerevan, they almost always write to me within the first few days to tell me that they haven’t seen as many sidewalk cafes anywhere else in the world. It seems as though I have a pattern of ending up in Yerevan in April and not all are open, but I almost always get to watch them being set up and by the end of my time in the city, they are open and ready for business. There are many things to do when sightseeing in Yerevan but definitely make sure you stop and enjoy a cafe for an hour or two.
Moscow
How to get to Red Square? Red Square is the main square of Moscow and the most visited place in the capital of Russia so it is not difficult to find it. All roads in Moscow lead to the Red Square. Most tourists get to Red Square by metro. The nearest stations are located about 300 – 400 meters away (Ploschad Revolutsii, Okhotny Ryad, Teatralnaya).
New York
The Museum of Modern Art I am normally not one to visit, let alone recommend, modern art museums, but I make an exception for the MoMA. Sure, it has its fair share of eyebrow-cocking art – I’m looking at you, performance art – but it is also home to a number of classics, including Van Gogh’s The Starry Night.
